Core work prepares you for self-reliance both literally and metaphysically. Literally these muscles support that axis of the body, where all of your internal organs are located, allowing the rest of the body to function safely and effectively whether you are standing on your feet or standing on your hands. Metaphysically“core work” stokes the internal fire, burning toxins, increasing vitality and strengthening will power. It is within this “power center” that the downward manifesting energy is directed upwards in order to become creative energy, opening the channels of love, compassion, freedom, and joy.
WINGS SATURDAY 12:00PM-3:00PM
The wings practice teaches us to, shoulder our responsibilities; because the shoulder joint has such a vast range of motion, it is also very unstable. Shouldering our responsibility involves creating a strong stable foundation out of the shoulders before moving on the “fancier” and “flashier” postures. As much as the wings practice develops strength and suppleness in the arms, shoulders and core, it more importantly develops those mental attributes that infuse our lives with sensitivity and resilience; including patience, calmness, focus, discipline and perseverance intelligence and wisdom.

MYCN is excited to offer prenatal yoga! During this 8 week pre-registered session you will stretch and strengthen your body, explore postures to ease the common discomforts of pregnancy, and nurture your connection with your baby and your changing body. Pre-natal yoga reduces stress, calms the nervous system, and assists in preparing the body and mind for labour and delivery. Classes are led by an experienced yoga teacher (and mother), and are perfect for all stages of pregnancy.
No previous yoga experience is needed! All are welcome.

Host annual neuroCAM research summits
